Add an extra 10-30 minute walk after lunch or dinner to this exercise routing, in addition to the 30 minutes. Finally, look for opportunities to move. This can mean anything from parking further from the office so you have to walk further to the door, to taking the stairs instead of the elevator, to raking leaves instead of blowing them.

Build muscles with weight training at least 3 times each week. Toned muscles make your metabolism speed into overdrive. A faster metabolism means burning more calories, and thus more fat, even when you’re simply performing routine, day to day activities. You’ll also generally look and feel better.

Never skip meals. If you do your body gets a message that it’s starving, and breaks into slow metabolism mode. A slow metabolism is not a friend of fat burning. Remember too that eating too little will also drop the body into starvation mode. Most people need to consume at least 1200 calories each day.

Results are pretty amazing when fat burning workouts combine with healthy eating. It doesn’t have to be difficult. Too hard is bad because when a work out is too hard people quit. Too many people get hyped up on working out after Christmas, or just before the summer beach season, but don’t even make it for a month before the difficult workouts ground them into quitting. Home Organization Tips For Organizing Your Kitchen

The most used room in your home is very likely the kitchen. Therefore it is likely to be the hardest to keep efficient, but don’t panic. These few home organization tips will make a big difference.

First clean out everything you do not use. Do you really use all 15 of those empty whipped topping containers? What about those 20 coffee cups? Could that be slimmed down to 4 or 5?

Then look around to see if you can change things to save more time. Are the pots and pans close to the stove? The glasses should be close to the refrigerator? Are your dishtowels and dishcloths near the sink? These ideas may seem obvious, but many times we put things in places just because it’s convenient, even though it’s not where they go.

If your cabinet space is limited, try these tips for organizing kitchen necessities. Stack plates and easily take them out by using a pate organizer. Use hooks for mugs and cups. Silverware can be kept neat with drawer organizers. Plastic wrap and tin foil can be stored in an organizer that goes inside of the cabinet door. Take advantage of the space under the sink by using special organizers there. Store more items in your pantry by using organizers that hang over the door. Innumerable are the possibilities. Any home improvement or discount store would carry these and most are pretty inexpensive.

Organize your pantry by boxes, cans, jars, etc…You could also organize it by breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack items. Use clear containers to keep small packages such as powdered gravies or soups. You can also use these to store things like packets of hot chocolate and instant oatmeal and grits. A few packs left in several different boxes take up valuable space. Take the boxes out and put those last few packets into a plastic container together.

These home organization tips are fairly simple and easy to incorporate into your home. Your kitchen will run more efficiently if you try these suggestions.

Have you ever herd less can be more. There are some people that think the more sets you do the bigger your biceps will get. Unfortunately, this dose not happen. Focus on keeping your sets to a minimum, and try to progress from workout to workout. If you make the mistake of exercising your biceps too often you will not allow it recuperate properly, and you will actually be weakening the muscle instead of strengthening it.

Fluoride Water – Good or Bad?

Good strong teeth in a child is a priority to conscientious parents. Yet, in spite of the advancements in dental care, more than one fourth of two to five year-olds and half of kids 12 to 15 have one or more cavities. Many feel that adding fluoride to public water is one way to curb the problem of tooth decay. Others strongly disagree.

Fluoride in various compounds may be found naturally in water. In fact, it is the 13th most common element in the Earth’s crust. The question is, when fluoride is not found naturally in water, should it be added? Studies have been made for decades and will continue. The purpose of this article is to consider both views and then present options. We need to answer the question, do you need fluoride filters?

Consider these quotes: “It is well known that fluoride helps prevent and even reverse the early stages of tooth decay.” “Today, water fluoridation is estimated to reduce tooth decay by 20-40%.” These statements were made by a medical doctor. Here’s another: “For over 60 years, water fluoridation has proved to be a safe and cost-effective way to reduce dental caries.”

Those favoring the addition of fluoride in water claim that its presence combats tooth decay in two ways. First, it strengthens the developing teeth. Second, it also aids the surface of the teeth by preventing the acid produced by the bacteria in plaque from dissolving, or demineralizing, tooth enamel. Fluoride also allows teeth damaged by acid to remineralize, or repair themselves. It won’t repair cavities, but it can reverse minor tooth decay and prevent new cavities from forming.

On the other hand we have quotes like this: “. . . there is no difference in the tooth decay rates of the fluoridated and nonfluoridated areas surveyed.” Indeed, some studies, they say, show that the more fluoride children ingest, the higher their risk of dental decay.

Fluorosis, a discoloration or mottling of the permanent teeth results when children 8 years of age or younger take in too much fluoride. During these years teeth are forming. To add fluoride to water along with what children get in toothpaste and dental treatments might well exceed this limit.

At times the studies have not considered the long range effects of fluoride. The con side says it has been directly linked to cancer, changes in bone structure and strength, has caused birth defects and perinatal deaths, has impaired the immune system, caused initial stages of skeletal fluorosis, caused osteoarthritis, inhibits key enzymes, suppresses thyroid function and several other adverse problems.

How do opponents answer to evidence mentioned above that fluoride is good for dental hygiene? They say the studies are flawed in several ways.  First, the studies did not consider the fact that other minerals were in the water and they might have been the real factor in decreased instances of tooth decay. Second, they failed to differentiate between “natural fluoride” (like CaF) and added fluoride (like NaF). Third, the studies lacked statistical proof. Fourth, only dental fluorosis was included as safety experiments.

If your conclusion from these points is that fluoride should not be in your drinking water, what can you if it is? Some opt for bottled water but this gets expensive. A better alternative is to purchase a water filter that removes fluoride. Some expensive units do this. Other less expensive units have optional fluoride filters. The Berkey Filter, for example, has available an additional filter that can we attached below the regular charcoal filters and will remove fluoride from the water. Improve Your Reading Speed and Your Comprehension

Speed reading teaches the skill of not sub-vocalizing while you read, instead teaching you to only focus on the words that have meaning to the overall context. You will become skilled at intentional reading and will therefore increase understanding at the same time as speed.

There are different ways of teaching and learning speed reading. One method might work better for some students than another. Fundamentally, speed reading aims to train the brain to recognize only relevant words without sounding them in one’s head. If you are not happy with your progress, look for different speed reading software or a program that teaches these skills in ways that work best for you.

However, similar to physical tasks, practice in speed reading will increase your reading speed as time goes on.
