Many people have successfully quit smoking by themselves but joining a quit smoking support group is often recommended because it will be much easier for you to stop smoking completely when you are a part of such a support group. A support group will have many people you can talk to. They are people just like you, trying to quit smoking. There will be difficult times, where you will find the like-minded members to be a great support to help you quit smoking. They know that it is not easy to stop using cigarettes completely and they will share tips and their experiences with you so that you will get the support that you need to stop smoking successfully.
You will find several quit smoking support groups for smokers who wish to quit smoking. Such support groups can be informal groups of friends and family members, or more formal groups consisting of various people from all walks of life. Nobody will deny the value of supportive friends and family when one wants to quit smoking. However, no matter how supportive your loved ones, the fact that they do not necessarily know about the difficulties of quitting smoking means they cannot provide the same amount of useful tips. This is the main reason why you should join a formal quit smoking support group. What’s more, many of your closest friens or family might not want you to succeed in quitting smoking because they themselves are not yet ready to quit smoking.
If you are ready to quit smoking and you would like to be a part of a quit smoking support group then you could always talk to your doctor, a hospital or your local church to recommend a quit smoking support group to you. Most quit smoking support groups offer structured programs and very often also provide printed support materials. One could communicate with colleagues or someone in your HR department to find out if your company has a quit smoking support group and how you could enroll. Not all organisations have ongoing support groups, but a growing number are supportive of their employees wishing to set up such quit smoking support groups.
You will also find that there are telephonic quit smoking support groups and these groups are managed by anti-smoking health associations and groups. Telephonic support groups are available for those who feel the need to join one to quit smoking. There are a considerable number of quit smoking support groups available online. Needless to say, being web based, these groups are every bit as effective. On web sites like this, as well as at online quit smoking support groups, one will find many quit smoking blogs and also articles related to how to stop smoking. These resources will help you achieve your goal of stopping smoking by providing you with the necessary quit smoking support structures and know-how.
SodaStream Markets Low-Calorie Alternatives

If you are an aware consumer, you know there are many beverage choices today. Before you buy that next high-calorie soda pop, stop and consider a healthier alternative.
In 1903, SodaStream was introduced. It was a carbonation system invented by Giles Gilby that made standard water into fizzy water and was originally sold to the upper classes. Different flavours were introduced in the 1920s. These included sarsaparilla and cherry ciderette. It enjoyed vast success in the 1970s and 80s, becoming a big hit in countries such as Australia, the UK, and Germany.
The company underwent numerous changes in ownership, even being part of the Cadbury Schweppes empire at one stage. In 1998 the company changed hands for the final time when purchased by Soda Club, which at that time was Israel’s biggest supplier of SodaStream. SodaStream remained the name of the brand after Soda Club’s unsuccessful bid to change the brand from SodaStream to Soda-Club.
More recently Soda Club sought to rename the SodaStream brand. Focusing on the health and diet issues that are so prevalent in this day and age, SodaStream was relaunched with a new machine and many new flavours, concentrating on producing a healthy alternative to fizzy, sugar-rich drinks such as Coca Cola and Pepsi.
The SodaStream product is basically a home carbonation kit; it allows you to change water into sparkling water, as well as allowing you to add low-calorie flavours such as cola and orange. A large assortment of calorie-free flavours to flavour sparkling water to great taste is sold at allfreightfree.com.
The SodaStream machine works by forcing co2 into a bottle suitable for pressurising and which is filled with water. The co2 turns the water into carbonated water. This process (dissolving co2) is what we call carbonation. The can then be drunk on its own as sparkling water, or mixed with flavours to create tasty, healthy treats. Once the co2 canisters have been used up they can be sent back to Soda-Club who recycle the canisters by refilling them with co2 then sending them back out.
Regarding actual health and diet benefits gained from drinking SodaStream, the company asserts that all their flavours are completely sugar-free and contain a maximum of 2 calories per 100ml; this is, assuredly, good news for every parent concerned about a child’s diet.
The SodaStream machine adds only co2 to the water, meaning it does not have the added sugar that some bottled sparkling water contains; consequently, there is little difference between it and normal water.
SodaStream have made much of their environmental and health credentials, going so far as to say that every single litre bottle of SodaStream made saves three aluminum cans. This means that over a 3 year span, a family of four could slash their soft-drink-related packaging usage by over 90%. This is an arresting claim, one that in this environmentally conscious age will stand them in good stead. It is clear that Sodastream has developed into a realistic alternative to the big players in the soft drink world.
