Drinking More Water Can Help You Lose Weight Quickly

Obesity has become an epidemic in America, and the number of people who are obese continues to rise each and every year.  Even with public health campaigns, popular television shows like The Biggest Loser, and other such pushes to help to get people in shape, these things just aren’t working.  It really does require a lifestyle change to lose weight quickly, and for some people that just may be too dramatic of a change.  For those people, changes their drinking habits, their eating habits, and their exercise habits all at once just won’t work, and they won’t stay on it.  But, if they are dedicated to slowly making improvements in what they eat and drink, as well as slowly incorporating more and more exercise into their routines, they can begin to develop the new healthy lifestyle.

One of the best ways to do that is by drinking more water.  Most people are chronically dehydrated and they don’t even know.  People as a whole need to drink more water and less soda, coffee and energy drinks.  These things often do not keep you hydrated properly, and in fact, the ones that have a higher amount of sodium, actually contribute to the dehydration.  Water is important for your body.  It helps to keep all of your body parts moving and functioning optimally, much like oil in a car does for the engine.

So how much water should you be drinking each and every day?  If you weight 200 pounds, then you should be drinking 100 ounces of water each and every day.  All you do is take your weight in ounces, cut it in half, and then that’s how many ounces of water you need to be drinking.  Yes, it is a lot of water, and you’ll probably be visiting the bathroom a lot initially, but your body does get used to it afetr a week or so and you’ll be making less trips.  And you’ll also notice that your metabolism is working better, and you can even start to lose weight because of it!

Forehead Acne Prevention

Acne affects millions of people all over the world. It is the most common of all skin disorders. While acne appears mostly in the facial area, it is commonly found in the shoulders, chest and arms as well. Facial acne, however is what people dislike the most because of its effects on self esteem. Forehead acne is one of the first areas where a breakout occurs.

Acne results from the accumulation of oils from the sebaceous glands in the skin, dead skin cells and acne causing bacteria. These accumulated materials form plugs in the skin pores and develop into acne. The spread of acne can occur when affected skin follicles are breached and the infection spreads to neighboring pores. There is no known singular cause of acne although experts say that they can be hereditary. In fact, cases of bad acne are generally attributed to your genetics. As discussed earlier, the skin disorder does affect millions and is not uncommon.

Forehead acne in particular can occur easily for people who lead active lives. The forehead is part of the face where sweat easily breaks and with that oil secretion. The forehead is also exposed to the air, thus people who spend a lot of time outdoors are especially susceptible to bacteria. Thus a mixture of the oil secreted by the skin and bacteria both commonly found in the forehead are spread easily when hair from the head brushes across the width of the forehead.

There are numerous solutions or treatments for acne that are very effective. However there is no better way to treat acne on your forehead but by preventing it from occurring to begin with. Sure following a few simple steps will not eliminate the occurrence of acne altogether, however, it is better to err on simple and logical preventive habits as opposed to not acting at all.

As simple as this may sound, proper washing of your face will go a long way of preventing dirt and bacteria from accumulating in your forehead.  For minor forehead acne bumps, this may be all it takes to get rid of acne fast. For people who spend a lot of time outdoors, gently washing your face about three times a day will suffice. Hard scrubbing and constant washing are not good for the skin so avoid this practice.

Another quick and simple thumb rule is to prevent the spread of forehead acne is to make sure you minimize hair brushing across your forehead. Every night before sleeping keep your hair away from your forehead by using a hair band or any other tool to prevent your hair from coming into contact with your forehead.

Lastly, stay away from oil based substances that are applied to the skin such as cosmetics. There are many cosmetic companies that produce products that are ‘skin friendly’.

Apply these simple rules today if you suffer from acne breakout. Develop a habit of maintaining your skin and chances of developing and spreading the acne should drop significantly.

Forehead Acne – The Causes and The Cure

If acne is not bad enough, having it spread across your forehead can be one of the most irritating of them all. Forehead acne is usually very obvious as it is can be quite difficult to hide. If you have hair styled in bangs, then the contact of the hair with acne on your forehead can be especially bothersome. If the problem isn’t taken care of quickly then forehead acne scars can occur.

Acne is caused when sebum, an oily substance produced by the sebaceous glands in the skin, mixes with dead skin cells and form a plug in the follicles of the skin. When this comes into contact with acne causing bacteria, an infection ensues creating a wound and causing inflammation. Thus there are three elements to acne: sebum, bacteria and dead skin. Acne can spread when follicle walls erupt affecting neighboring follicles and spreading the infection. This can lead to very bad acne.

The human face is especially susceptible to acne breakouts. In fact, forehead acne and chin acne are two of the most common types of breakouts. One of the reasons for this is because of the close proximity of hair follicles in the forehead, chin and neck. There are other reasons why acne tends to accumulate in these areas that are outside of the scope of this article. However for the sake of discussing forehead acne in this article, suffice to say, the concentration of hair follicles increases the risk of acne breakout in the forehead area. Skin pores that are close to one another tend to have sebum collect in them thus increasing incidence of acne.

Hair from the scalp can likewise be a source of risk as far as the spread of acne is concerned. Oil not only from the sebum in the forehead follicles but from the scalp as well can be passed onto the forehead providing bacteria with the medium from which to work. The swaying of hair from the scalp can also cause dirt and oils to spread across the forehead further exacerbating forehead acne. Also, the forehead is constantly exposed to the elements thus the presence of dirt accumulates in this area.

Understanding the root cause of the spread of forehead acne, there are a few easy and logical steps that one can take to minimize and hopefully prevent the occurrence and spread of acne on the forehead. Listed below are some quick and easy guidelines.

  1. Wash your face with water or mild cleansers as twice daily. Avoid over washing or using abrasive cleansers or washcloths as this may cause dryness of the skin and irritation;
  2. Avoid using oil based cosmetics;
  3. If at all possible, avoid hair from the scalp from keeping in contact with the forehead. If you constantly brush your hair, avoid contact with the forehead.
  4. Avoid hair from getting oily

The steps above are easy to do and they will keep the risk of getting forehead acne at a low if practiced on a regular basis. By following the forehead acne treatment steps above, you are minimizing the occurrence of over oily skin and the collection of dead skin and bacteria.

Stop Snoring Naturally

Their are hundreds if not thousands of stop snoring devices on the market these days. Ranging in price from $40 up to $500 dollars a pop, they all aim to do the same thing, help you to stop snoring. Though there are many successful stop snoring remedies that are completely natural and wont cost you a thing monetarily.

First and foremost one the main reasons why people snore is the fact that they are overweight. Doctors and scientists alike both agree that loosing 10% of your overall body weight will reduce snoring significantly and may get rid of it all together. Their is really no way to get around this one, most of the other natural remedies wont do much if you are overweight, and its better to loose some weight now rather than later.

Second on the list of snoring solutions is to consume liquids such as water and non caffeinated drinks before heading off to bed. You see, the reason people snore is based upon the fact that their throat cavity tends to get dry and close up during the night. With obese people this is more prevalent, but it happens to all snorers. Drinking fluids and lubricating the throat however may work to stop snoring in its tracks.

If you tried the fluid thing and that didnt work you may want to look at the way which you sleep. Most people sleep on their backs and this is a huge negative when it comes to stopping snoring. Sleeping on your side will reduce snoring naturally, but eliminating the throat from rattling thus creating the noise that we know as snoring.
If none of these natural methods worked for you you may want to look into purchasing a stop snoring device, or making a trip to your doctor as you could have obstructive sleep apnea which would cause excess snoring.

An Adult Acne Remedy That Works

If you are an adult suffering from acne, take heart, you are not unique. If you are looking for an adult acne remedy, then keep reading. Acne affects over 80% of people growing up. Unfortunately not everyone grows out of it. In fact some adults have recurring cases of acne which leads them to think that they are unique. The truth is, some experts estimate that about 25% of those aged between 20 and 60 suffer from adult onset acne.

Causes of Adult Acne

The sebaceous glands located in the skin produce an oily substance called sebum. Sebum clogs skin pores and when this mixes with acne causing bacteria and dead skin cells, causes inflammation of the pore. An imbalance of androgen (male) and estrogen (female) hormones are also known to cause acne breakouts. In women, acne breakout can happen while they are pregnant, or while they are undergoing perimenopause and menopause. The use of oil based cosmetics is also known to be cause of breakout.

Adult Acne Remedies

There are several types of treatments for adult acne. Sometimes a variety of trials may be required to find the most effective solution for an individual. Everyone’s skin is different and will require a slightly different approach. If you are unsure of which type of treatment to use, or the solutions you’ve applied haven’t worked, get expert advice. As an example, it is not advisable to apply medication for adolescents as they are designed for generally oily skin and might make things worse for adults who have generally dry skin. Do you best to find adult acne products. Listed below are some general types of treatment for adult acne.

Cleansers: Use gentle cleansers. Using products or medications that contain granules can be abrasive to the skin. The one thing you want to avoid is irritating your skin even more with these types of products.

Creams and lotions: Using Retinol products cleans the skins pores. Benzoyl peroxide is also very popular for cleansing and is effective in killing bacteria. Products with salicylic acid are also quite popular and effective for controlling bad acne scars.

Prescription medications: There are topical and orally taken antibiotics that help fight acne causing bacteria located in the skin. Some blood pressure drugs also help by balancing hormones, if this is found to be the cause of acne breakouts.

Laser solutions: Laser treatment is effective however they can be quite costly. Laser treatment targets scars and can kill bacteria very effectively. Laser treatment is often the last choice of patients because of the cost involved thus it is best to first explore other options.

A Preventive Regimen

Maintain a clean face through a regular washing regimen. Wash your face two times a day with a mild facial cleanser. If your face is too dry, use lukewarm water. Use a soft washcloth if available to avoid skin irritation, otherwise use your hands.

Acne in adults is quite common. There are great adult acne remedies out there to help you get clearer skin. The next time you have a breakout, try some of the ideas above. If these don’t provide any relief or if your condition gets worse, consult your dermatologist.

Natural Hair Growth – Prevention is the Best Medication

Growing your hair out naturally is just as important as making it look and feel great. The trick to growing your hair out in a natural way is to treat it with care so that your base hair line stays strong. Over intended use of damaging products and dangerous treatment of your hair puts you at risk for hair loss and this is probably something that you will not want to experience.

Hair loss is something that is starting to become a lot more common in today’s society. It is proven that not only men are losing their hair, but women are as well. If you wish to keep your hair then I recommend that you start treating it well and start taking care of it.

For those of you who do have hair thinning issues but can still grow hair, you might want to look into changing your diet. There are certain foods that will help you grow hair faster and even some gels and lotions can be placed on your scalp to encourage hair growth.

Although most hair loss problems can be treated there is also natural causes of hair loss and lack of natural hair growth. It is just written in some people’s genes that they are going to start losing hair as they grow older. There is simply nothing you can really do about it and you should expect this.

If you are really concerned about this then there are surgeries that you can take such as a hair transplant but that is not a natural way of growing hair. I have also heard that this type of operation is very painful. Your best bet is taking good care of your hair now while you are young so that when you grow older it is still there.

Herbal Remedies to Get Rid Of Hemorrhoids

Herbs have long been proven as a way to get rid of many health problems, from severe problems such as diseases like cancer, to minor problems such as watery eyes from allergies. Herbs are most sought after because of their medicinal properties, but also because they are some of the easiest ways to aid in getting rid of whatever you are trying to get rid of. In fact, back in the 14th century, witches were often considered to use witchery because they would use herbs to get rid of health problems. In all actuality, it was not the witches doing anything healing, but rather the herbs. You too, can capture the essence of herbs to get rid of your hemroid problem.

It is very easy; all you have to do is know what herbs to use in what instances. There are quite literally hundreds of routes to take – some of these will be taken internally, while others will be applied topically around or in the anus to reduce hemroid symptoms.

In the same way that aloe vera can take away burning and itchiness from a sunburn, it can take away the burning and itchiness from hemorrhoids as well. Simply take some of the aloe and rub it along the anus to reduce the inflammation of the skin – this works like aspirin, but this is much healthier for you!

Salves such as golden seal, myrrh and white oak can be used to place on the hemorrhoids to reduce inflammation as well. If you need a good way to stop the bleeding of your hemorrhoids, you could consider making a paste out of comfrey root and placing it on the hemorrhoids. If you want to find a way to cleanse the area and dry it out, a good herb to consider is the witch hazel. Just be sure not to place this inside the anal canal. This is only for external usage.

Once you do get rid of the hemorrhoids, it is of the utmost importance to start changing what you eat and how you live your life. Just by taking Omega 3s and 6, drinking plenty of fluids, staying away from fatty and acidy foods and increasing your exercise you can significantly decrease your chance of getting your hemorrhoids back! Be sure to also include more fibers in your diet as well such as papayas, beets, nuts, rice and wheat!

Herbs and “natural treatments” are very popular these days, but just because they are natural does not automatically make them safe. Be sure to consult with a doctor to be sure that any herbs, vitamins, or supplements you are taking are safe and that they don’t interfere with any other medications you may be taking.

Great Techniques for Natural Hair Restoration

More of the world is going green today than ever before, and people in this country are making more of an effort to live on fewer chemicals than was expected in previous years. Finding ways to have natural hair restoration be the first choice for people suffering hair loss is a dramatic change for society in some ways, and one I think is most welcome.

Well, if you are losing your hair, the first thing you have to do is consider your life choices. If you are high stress, bad food, go go go all the time, then that can cause hair loss, and you are going to have to address that if you wish to solve the problem. Stress is an especially big contributor to hair loss, and you will have to work on lowering that before you try anything else. Stress will make you lose your hair in strange patches across the head, unlike typical male pattern baldness, these will be in random places rather unlike the predictable crown area. You should also consider eating better, as this will help bring your hair back faster and keep you from losing ground with the stress battle.

Foods you can eat for natural hair restoration include certain types of fishes, flax meal, whole grains, nuts, broccoli, carrots, various types of fruit, and red meats. These provide the diet that the human body requires to do anything well, including grow hair. I am sure that people will roll their eyes when they read the “more vegetables” line, but the bottom line is you wouldn’t fill the gas tank in a car with sand and expect it to run, so how can you eat processed rubbish and expect to grow decent hair skin or fingernails? If that doesn’t make my point how about this, I show long haired dogs in various forms of competition, and they will not grow the gorgeous show coat that drives the crowd nuts if they are not fed an incredible amount of quality food. Both over and underweight dogs bear poor coat quality, so how different are human beings, really? Without the building blocks of nutrition we simply cannot be at our best, and it will show in our “coat quality”. So take a good look at natural hair restoration, before you go running for the Rogain.

Acupuncture and Infertility: The Real Deal?

February 18, 2010 by Natural Remedy Reporter

Is Acupuncture the real deal? The short answer would be yes, acupuncture is one of the natural fertility treatments of my choice when it comes to telling what my potential clients should do. What is acupuncture exactly and how does it work to produce such amazing results?

The answer is two fold. First of all, acupuncture has been around for centuries. (and yes, what most people know about it is misleading) Normally, a treatment doesn’t stick around for such a long time if it doesn’t work. In fact, acupuncture has a long history of 5000 years, now that’s a very long time to test whether a treatment works or not without the aid of any pharmaceutical drugs and/or surgery or any kind. In fact, aside from herbs, this is the only kind of treatment used in China for a very long time. If it works for them for such a long time, I’m sure It will work for you.

But you might be thinking that you need more proof than longevity to accept that acupuncture and infertility has been interlinked as a cure for 5000 years now. (and whether they’re effective or not) And you shall get the proof because recent medical journals has been documenting he effectiveness of acupuncture for treating anything from arthritis, weight loss, back pain, depression and of course, infertility. This is not some kind of whack job experiment but most of them are peer reviewed journal that are widely respected by clinician and physician from all over the world. Similar results have been replicated at labs all around the world with similar results.

Plus, acupuncture has been really popular these days and shows no signs of declining popularity. The reason why it’s so popular right now is most probably because it really works for a lot of people.
