6 Ways to Get Your Metabolism Revved Up
How do people have such high metabolisms, and how can I build my metabolism up? To answer that question I did some research and came up with these 6 sure fire ways to speed up your metabolism.
1. Workout in the Morning
Morning workouts give you a longer lasting After Burner effect (see #2) that helps you burn more calories during the day while on the other hand…
You do get some after burn with evening workouts but your after burn won’t last as long since you’ll probably end up going to bed in the evening and when you sleep – your metabolism slows back down.
2. Interval Training That Is Intense.
Instead of just going for a brisk walk or a steady jog try adding alternating intensity levels. For instance, when I ride my elliptical machine I warm up for about 3 minutes, and then I alternate between a steady pace and an up-tempo pace every minute after. Intense interval training has been proven to increase fat burning after a workout, aka the “after burn”.
3. Workout More Frequently
Doctors are now saying that a person can burn more fat throughout the day by doing 4 ten minute intense exercises instead of a longer 40+ minute exercise routine that is not as intense. The idea of this is to sustain the after burn all day long instead of it dissipating later on the day. It is just easier to workout at a high level for a shorter period of time than it is to hold that intensity for a 40+ minute workout.
4. Drink 6 to 10 Glasses of Cold Water Each Day.
A research center in Berlin did a study showing that after drinking a 7oz glass of cold water that a person’s fat-burning metabolism increased an average of 30%. JUST BY DRINKING WATER! It would not take much for a person to increase their water intake to reap the benefits. Plainly put, if you want your metabolism to work it needs water to do so.
5. Making Fiber and Protein a Focal Point of Your Diet.
Fiber and protein take more calories to burn than other types of foods. In fact, many fresh vegetables, like carrots, will burn more calories than what is taken in. Just by replacing your normal snacks with some fresh veggies will help you lose weight!
6. Eat More Smaller Meals During the Entire Day – 5 meals seems to be right.
Our stomach’s have a survival technique in that when you are hungry it will store more of the food we eat as fat instead of using it as energy. If you eat a little something every few hours you will never be hunger, you won’t over eat, and the foods vitamins and nutrients will be used as they were intended.
Did I miss something or did those six natural ways to speed up your metabolism seem really easy to do? There were no mentioning of crazy weight-loss pills, workouts, or diet plans. Just basic common sense everyday things we can change.
Get Proper Hydration to Be Healthy

A person can live 4 to 6 weeks without food but without water it is just a matter of days. Water is the most important substance to our body for it is needed for all the processes that occur within. And it is much more important if you are following a diet. It does not do miracles but if you want to lose weight in a healthy manner you have to exercise and when you exercise you need to keep your water levels up.
The amount of water you should drink varies; trainers say you should talk to a nutritionist to calculate your water needs depending on the characteristics of your body. In principle, it seems that if you sleep 8 hours a night – so you spend 16 hours awake – it would be ideal to drink a glass of water every hour. The simplest method would be to keep a 1 gallon flask of water at all times, and to write down to the end of the day how much water you needed. You need to drum mark. If you manage to drink all the water that means you satisfied your “hydration needs” for that day.
The simplest way to find out if you had enough water is achievable at home. Urine color is a good indicator. If generally it is transparent and clear the hydration is optimal. If it is yellow or loses its clarity, you need to drink more fluids.
This also indicates a proper kidney cleanse, which is very important for the balance of your body because this means that the toxins are eliminated properly. This does not automatically lead to rapid weight loss but it speeds up the process a little bit, and any help is better that no help at all. Water is very important for your health so make sure you get plenty of it.
Drinking More Water Can Help You Lose Weight Quickly

Obesity has become an epidemic in America, and the number of people who are obese continues to rise each and every year. Even with public health campaigns, popular television shows like The Biggest Loser, and other such pushes to help to get people in shape, these things just aren’t working. It really does require a lifestyle change to lose weight quickly, and for some people that just may be too dramatic of a change. For those people, changes their drinking habits, their eating habits, and their exercise habits all at once just won’t work, and they won’t stay on it. But, if they are dedicated to slowly making improvements in what they eat and drink, as well as slowly incorporating more and more exercise into their routines, they can begin to develop the new healthy lifestyle.
One of the best ways to do that is by drinking more water. Most people are chronically dehydrated and they don’t even know. People as a whole need to drink more water and less soda, coffee and energy drinks. These things often do not keep you hydrated properly, and in fact, the ones that have a higher amount of sodium, actually contribute to the dehydration. Water is important for your body. It helps to keep all of your body parts moving and functioning optimally, much like oil in a car does for the engine.
So how much water should you be drinking each and every day? If you weight 200 pounds, then you should be drinking 100 ounces of water each and every day. All you do is take your weight in ounces, cut it in half, and then that’s how many ounces of water you need to be drinking. Yes, it is a lot of water, and you’ll probably be visiting the bathroom a lot initially, but your body does get used to it afetr a week or so and you’ll be making less trips. And you’ll also notice that your metabolism is working better, and you can even start to lose weight because of it!

1.) Perform your routines for only three times a week, any number after that and you will over train yourself. If you want to gain optimum muscle mass and enhance your explosive power, then you need to do your training for only three times a week. You see, many aspiring ball players or even newbie bodybuilders like to think that if you spend long hours in the gym busting your behind and working out, they will gain muscle mass faster – that is a big no-no! Training for long hours can do you wonders in terms of improving your shooting and ball handling skills, but that same principle cannot be applied when it comes to strength training.
2.) Do your routine for only an hour. When it comes to improving vertical and jumping higher for basketball, you need to train fast and with as much intensity as possible. Skinny People: How to Gain Weight

A lot of skinny guys find it very difficult to put on mass and build muscles and that is a known fact. However, with the help of the best muscle building program, it is still possible for skinny guys to build their chest, get big biceps, six pack abs and so on. If you too are thin and skinny, then what you need to do is to go about your training using an approach which is suited to your specific body type.
Oftentimes, the most difficult part in terms of how to build muscle for skinny guys is to put on mass. You need to first gain mass, before you can get ripped and in order to achieve just that, you need to take in more foods than what you are currently eating. In some cases, ever more food should be consumed. Then again, this idea should not be taken as an excuse to start eating grubs and unhealthy junk foods. It is still imperative that you eat healthy foods. For you to gain mass, you need good carbohydrates, good fats, vitamins & minerals and of course, tons of muscle building protein.
In line with that, you also need to eat more; instead of big. What does this mean? Well, the idea here is to consume small meal portions all throughout the day to give your body that regular supply of calories. You see, if you eat a large meal on one sitting, it would be difficult for your body to absorb all the nutrients that you are giving it. A huge portion of these nutrients will only go to waste and such occurrence is something that you would want to avoid. You can get your regular supply of calories by snacking on cheese, yogurt, Avocado and by drinking milk.
Now that you are getting that ample supply of calories in your body, it is now time to transform these fats into muscles and you can accomplish that by training and exercising big and hard.
What is Reflexology Foot Massage?

You may have heard the word ‘reflexology’ used in the context of foot massage before, and wondered what it meant. The concept is simple enough- stimulating points on the foot are supposed to have an effect on other parts of the body associated with the foot, the foot “reflects” the entire body.
The theory of reflexology comes from TCM, or Traditional Chinese Medicine, and in this system each part of the foot is associated with some part of the body. For instance, the big toe represents the head and neck, while the center of the foot represents the kidney. Each organ system in turn has specific characteristics and functions according to TCM theories, and massaging the area on the foot associated with the organ is supposed to have a certain effect and relieve specific ailments. Without getting too much into discussion of the theory, which fills books, let’s just say that the foot from toes to heal roughly correspond to the body from head to foot.
If you are skeptical, and you have the right to be, maybe you should try it for yourself. Find a qualified reflexology practitioner and give it a go- let him or her know if you have any specific ailments. Reflexology has a good reputation when it comes to treating headaches and problems with digestion, for example. But either way, if you are able to relax and the massage therapist knows what he or she is doing, you should have a near heavenly experience.
When the treatment is done, you can expect to feel lighter and relaxed, with more of a sense of well-being. Keep in mind that reflexology, as well as other forms of massage therapy, aren’t usually going to work in one try. These ways of healing are usually carried out over several treatments, so give it the old college try before pronouncing judgment. In the end, whether it works according to TCM theory or not, it’s silly to try to deny the therapeutic effects of a good foot massage.

People are always in a hurry, they hurry to go to work, they hurry to eat and they hurry to lose weight. Unfortunately being always in a hurry will not help your weight loss efforts. To lose weight fast you need to first learn how to lose weight. Weight loss is not just a process that you can play in fast forward. It takes a lot of time; it needs a solid plan and has to be done gradually.
People who try to get in shape fast by losing a large number of pounds in very short time they end up with more weight than when they started their weight loss attempts. The first rule of weight loss is that it has to be done slowly. The maximum amount of weight you can safely lose in a month is 4 pounds. While it is possible to lose more pounds in a month it is not recommended. The main reason is that fast weight loss can negatively affect your metabolism and when this happen the whole process will slow down.
The second rule of fast weight loss is that you should not dramatically reduce the amount of calories you consume from one day to the next. By doing so you will trigger the ‘hunger protective mechanisms’ of your body and the calorie burning process will decrease thus making the whole weight loss process more difficult.
The third rule on how to get in shape fast is that you need to exercise. While this is obvious and known by many people, they are still doing it wrong. Many people try to lose weight with exercise by following the same pattern over and over again. This will help them in the beginning but after a short period of time their body adapts to the exercise routine. This means that it has no need in getting extra energy from the fat reserves to cope with the exercise requirements. What you need to do, and this is a big weight loss secret, is to continuously increase the pace, duration and intensity of your exercises. You should start slow, let’s say 20 minutes per day, 3 times per week and then gradually make that 1 hour per day, 5 times per week. As you get more experienced you can also add more variety in your routine and include exercises from different types like cardio, aerobics and weight lifting.
To sum up, if you really need to get in shape fast then start slow and plan high. Examine your diet and gradually reduce the amount of calories you consume while at the same time begin your exercise sessions slowly and gradually increase it.

Every day thousands of people worldwide are being diagnosed with Celiac disease. It impacts people of all ages, causing weight loss, chronic diarrhea, and in some cases anemia. The best way to manage Celiac disease is by avoiding gluten. Gluten causes a reaction to wheat proteins in some people. Until only recently almost everything contained gluten, and it was near impossible to find food that didn’t contain it. With more and more people becoming aware of and being diagnosed with Celiac disease, it is a lot easier to find gluten free food at most supermarkets.
If you are suffering from Celiac disease you can still enjoy delicious food. There are gluten free versions of almost every dish you can think of. You can make cookies, cakes, and different types of breads all gluten free. You can even find gluten free beer and wine! There are a number of acceptable starches you can use in gluten free cooking. Some of the starches that are OK to use are tapioca, potatoes, rice, and corn. The main things to stay away from are wheat, barley, and rye. If you are a fan of meat you’re in luck. Almost all meat dishes are gluten free.
When on a gluten free diet it is important to include a lot of fruits and vegetables in your cooking. This is because many people with Celiac disease become deficient in the important nutrients found in most fruits and vegetables. One of the primary things Celiac disease does to your body is prevents the absorption of vital nutrients. So be sure to include as many fruits and vegetables as possible when you cook. It also may be necessary to take vitamin supplements just to be sure you are getting the nutrition you need. Fruits and vegetables also work well in restoring the intestines.
When you first start eating a gluten free diet, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all of the things that you can’t eat or cook now. Following a gluten free menu can be a real time-saver and will probably help preserve your sanity as well!
